Marion enlisted in the Army on xx.xx.194X. He served with the 25th Infantry Division during the Liberation of Luzon, the main island of the Philippines.
It was a bloody 165-day jungle campaign fought against an enemy who swore to fight until their death. The division suffered the most casualties of any of the 6th Army's units.
He was discharged on xx/xx/xx and returned to his home state of Kansas before relocating his family to Salida, Colorado. Marion and his first wife, xxxx had two children. xxx, and xxxx.
Marion later divorced and married Louise (Veltri) Scanga on xx/xx/xx, and they had one son, Marion Jr.
Louise had three children with her previous husband, Gregg Henry Scanga. They were Richard, Sharon, and Donald Scanga.

Michael "Mike" Veltri

Born, raised, and except for his military service, Mike lived in Chaffee County, Colorado.
He joined the Army in 1943. Most likely received Basic Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Served in the 31st Dixie Division and fought in the Philippines. He was never wounded and was discharged from the Army in late 1945.
Mike married his wife Mary (Butala) on xx/xx/xx and they had three children together: Charles "Chuck", Carol Ann, and Janice.

Charles "Chuck" served from 1969-1972. Trained at Ft. Leonard Wood and Fort Sill. Attended the Artillery Combat Leaders Course at Ft. Sill. Promoted Sergeant upon graduation.
Served in Vietnam in 1970-1971. Served in the 25th Infantry Division as an Artillery Gun Chief during the Cambodian invasion.
Later fought with the 7/8th Artillery, II Field Force, as Chief of the Fire Direction Center for a Battery of 8" - 175 MM guns.
He was awarded two Bronze Stars and received a Combat Unit Citation for Meritorious Service against a large force of North Vietnamese attempting to overrun "Fire Base Blue".

After 20 years of service, Jason retired as a Major from the Colorado National Guard. As a young Lieutenant, Jason was a Signal Platoon Leader during the "Shock & Awe" Iraq campaign to overthrow Saddam Hussein. As a Captain, he served as the Battalion S6 with the 19th Special Forces Group in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He continues to serve the Army today through his occupation with VMware, which provides technology products and services to multiple Army force elements worldwide.

Served a year in the Army Air Defense Artillery (HAWK) and four years in the Army Signal Corps. Attended a one-year course in NCR & IBM Computer Repair, then served three years in the VII Corps, Germany.
